“Queer Kalevipoeg” is a collectively coloured digital quilt that consists of illustrations based on the Estonian national epic “Kalevipoeg”. It is a speculative interpretation that highlights sexual minorities, their identities and experiences that have been omitted from the original text. I initiated this project because I realized that queer history is incomplete and out of grasp for various reasons. Through collective colouring sessions of the quilt queer neo-folklore was created.
