The master’s thesis maps out optimum possibilities of recording scenography through elements of theatre design such as room, characters’ appearance and props. The research focuses on the scenography of the ballet The Goblin staged in Estonian National Opera.
Experiences of previous archives, existing materials of the production and interviews with the director and designers were analysed. The research offers suggestions on recording a production’s scenography in order to facilitate the documenting of an ephemeral art form.
