Passing the master degree course of the Estonian Academy of Arts I had the opportunity and the support to make the idea of tuned ceramic musical instruments (porcelain idiophones) and music performances to reality. When I studied the existing knowledge of material, design and sound, I found that the ideal combination could be achieved with a simple, clear form, which in turn produces a good clear sound. Through a variety of tests, new knowledge and diverse experiences, I created an instrument that corresponded to my imagination and immediately gave me the opportunity to test it in public by playing solo, accompanied by a handbell group. After positive experiences through the construction of the first instrument, there are already other musical instruments in the making. In addition, I would like to develop new idiophones and recommend to use them in music therapy and as improvisational instruments for „sound walks” in nature.
